Melanie Barstad

we can create new possibilities for our students.

Melanie Barstad remembers her time at Auburn as “great training for my career beyond college.” She had visited Auburn as a child, so her choice for college was an easy one. Once she arrived, Melanie became involved in a social sorority and the band and served as an SGA student senator. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in English in 1975, she began a career that included executive-level positions in a number of Fortune 500 companies.

Her experience at Auburn and her belief in a responsibility to give back have led Melanie to support scholarships. Through her contributions to the Dean’s Advisory Council scholarship endowment in the College of Liberal Arts, she’s providing resources to help future generations of students experience an Auburn education.
