Why I Give

ANNA RUTH GATLIgatlinN

Interior Designer
Design Services and Construction Management
Facilities Management

How long have you worked for Auburn? Four years.

What does your job entail? I work on renovations, new construction, and anything else that needs an interior designer’s touch. I really enjoy how diverse each day can be and how many people I get to encounter on a day-to-day basis.

Why do you give back to Auburn? I believe that this university does a lot of great work, and if I can help support that, then I will.

What motivated you to begin giving back to Auburn? When I began working in Facilities Management, I saw how different university units and programs depend on donations to offer the highest quality experience and education to students and others they serve. Before then, I didn’t realize how direct my donation could be or much it could make an impact.

Why do you think it is important for our colleagues to give back to the university? Any amount counts.  If we all give what we can, we’re making an impact.

If you had $1 million to give to Auburn, what would you do with it? I’d put it toward an new building for the Interior Design program in the College of Human Sciences. I’ve witnessed how much thought the program gives to allocating donations to improve student’s quality of education and to support the faculty’s research endeavors, and I know that my donation would go far in the goal for a new building.
