The Auburn Memorial will serve as a visible and permanent on-campus destination honoring the memories of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who have passed away.
The Auburn Memorial will unify the entire Auburn Family through the traits upon which the university is known: hard work; education; honesty; mind, body, and spirit; obedience to law; the human touch; and service.
The proposed location for the memorial is the Garden of Memory, located across from the President’s Home. Enhancements to this space will include the addition of a courtyard, walking path, placeholders embodying the seven traits of The Auburn Creed, and more. This private location will provide an ideal space for tranquil reflection and remembrance.
Auburn’s Board of Trustees has approved a total project budget of $1.25 million. The Student Government Association, through the leadership of a 30-member student steering committee, has pledged to raise $250,000 of those expenses to create The Auburn Memorial.
